Srinagar: On Pakistan Defence Day, today, the people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have paid heartfelt tributes to the Pakistani martyrs of the 1965 war.

According to a report by Kashmir Media Service, while Pakistan celebrates Defence Day today, the residents of IIOJK stand in solidarity with Pakistan to honor the sacrifices made by Pakistani soldiers and civilians in their defense against Indian aggression in 1965.

Each September 6, Pakistanis remind the world that the Kashmir dispute remains an unfinished agenda of the Pakistan Movement. The report highlighted that Defence Day is not only a tale of bravery and heroism but also a day when Pakistanis express full solidarity with the people of IIOJK. The report underscored that Jammu and Kashmir is intrinsically linked to Pakistan, with one part currently under illegal Indian occupation. Since 1947, Kashmiris have been striving to liberate their land from Indian clutches. The deep religious, historical, cultural, and geographical ties between Kashmiris and Pakistan make it clear that no force can thwart Kashmir’s rightful aspiration to become part of Pakistan. The Kashmir movement is, in essence, a continuation of the Pakistan Movement, with the completion of Pakistan envisioned only when all of Jammu and Kashmir is integrated.

Leaders of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) remarked that in 1965, when India challenged Pakistan’s existence, the Pakistani armed forces and the entire nation stood resolutely against India’s aggression and thwarted its malicious designs.

They criticized India’s persistent denial of Pakistan’s legitimacy and its ongoing conspiracies against Pakistan’s security. They expressed prayers for Pakistan’s development and prosperity, noting that a strong and prosperous Pakistan is essential for the success of the Kashmir freedom movement.

The APHC leaders emphasized that India’s illegal occupation of the Muslim-majority state of Jammu and Kashmir since 1947 has been marked by its denial of Kashmiris’ right to self-determination and the brutalities against them for asserting this right. They commended Pakistan’s steadfast advocacy for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, asserting that the Kashmir dispute remains the core issue causing tension between Pakistan and India. They reiterated that normalization of relations between the two countries is impossible without resolving this dispute in accordance with UN resolutions.

The APHC leaders echoed Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s assertion that Kashmir is the jugular vein of Pakistan. They praised Pakistan’s unwavering support for the oppressed people of IIOJK, assuring that Pakistan has not abandoned them and will continue to stand by them.

Meanwhile, APHC-AJK leaders also honored the Pakistani martyrs of the 1965 war. They noted that Pakistan’s armed forces not only defended their homeland but also sent a powerful message to India by defeating its malicious intentions.

They emphasized Pakistan’s crucial role in the Kashmiris’ struggle for self-determination and expressed gratitude to Pakistan for its continued support. They appealed to the Pakistani people to remain vigilant against hostile forces aiming to destabilize Pakistan.
