Parents of slain doctor accuse Kolkata police tampering of evidence
Kolkata: The grieving parents of a young female doctor, who was brutally raped and murdered in a Kolkata hospital, have come forward with serious allegations against the police, accusing them of bias and attempting to destroy evidence of the case.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim’s parents revealed that they received little support from the police from the very beginning. “If it weren’t for the doctors going on strike and the voices raised on social media, the police might have closed the case long ago,” they said.
The parents claimed that instead of helping them seek justice, the police pressured them to withdraw from the case, even offer them money to do so.
The victim’s mother, speaking at a protest, vowed that the demonstrations would continue until justice was served for her daughter. “This fight is not just for my daughter, but for every girl in this country,” she said, urging the public to join them in their demand for justice.
The victim’s father also appealed to the citizens, asking them to participate in the protests in large numbers. “Justice is not easy, but with the people’s support, it is possible,” he emphasized.
