UN urged to act on lingering Kashmir dispute, citing threat to global peace

Srinagar: Hurriyat leaders and organizations in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have demanded urgent intervention from the United Nations to resolve the decades-long Kashmir dispute, which they warn poses a significant threat to regional and global peace.
According to Kashmri Media Service, the leaders and organizations in their statements in Srinagar emphasized that the UN must fulfill its obligations towards the Kashmiri people and uphold its commitments to their right to self-determination.
The call for UN action comes in response to the Modi regime’s attempts to change the demographic landscape of IIOJK, systematic killings of Kashmiris by Indian troops, and blatant disregard for UN resolutions on Kashmir.
They argued that India’s illegal actions on August 5, 2019, were a rebuke to UN resolutions on Kashmir, demonstrating a brazen disregard for international law. KMS-4K
