IIOJK faces relentless assault on Muslim identity: APHC
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that India’s Hindutva regime led by Narendra Modi has launched a systematic assault on the Muslim identity of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar said, the ruling BJP is working to disempower Muslims, erode their religious and cultural identity, and impose Hindutva ideology in the occupied territory.
He highlighted a series of policies and actions taken by the Modi regime, which are designed to erase Kashmir’s Islamic roots. These include the promotion of Hindutva through cultural programs and policies, the takeover of religious sites, and the forced integration of Hindu symbols and traditions into daily life.
The spokesman urged the international community to pressure the Indian government to stop its policies of cultural domination and religious coercion in Kashmir. The party’s control over IIOJK’s religious sites, including Eidgahs, mosques, and shrines, reveals a troubling strategy to undermine the region’s Muslim identity.
Furthermore, the APHC said, the BJP is forcing Muslim students to sing Hindu hymns, establishing Hindu temples, and promoting Hindu traditions in IIOJK, all of which are deliberate attempts to alter the region’s demographic and cultural landscape.
The regime’s efforts to erase Kashmir’s cultural heritage are evident in its revisions to educational content, saffronization of textbooks, and attempts to alter the Kashmiri script, the spokesman added. KMS-11K
