Mehbooba Mufti criticizes Modi for using Pakistan as a distraction from BJP’s failures
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti has strongly condemned Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying that the BJP is raising the bogey of Pakistan to divert attention from its own failures.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mehbooba’s remarks came in response to Modi’s claims that the PDP, along with the National Conference (NC) and Congress, is promoting the agenda of the neighboring country in IIOJK.
Speaking to reporters in Srinagar, Mufti stated, “The BJP has failed on every front. They promised two crore jobs each year which meant 20 crore jobs in a decade but have delivered little. Instead of addressing issues like employment, they’ve indulged in Hindu-Muslim politics, lynching of Muslims and the demolition of mosques. Now, they conveniently remember Pakistan as a distraction from their own shortcomings.”
Mufti further emphasized, “If regional parties were truly implementing Pakistan’s agenda, Jammu and Kashmir would have long been a part of that country.” She called for a focus on genuine development and dialogue instead of divisive rhetoric.
