Washington, D.C: A significant gathering took place at Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai’s residence in Fairfax, Virginia, as prominent Kashmiri leaders convened to discuss the ongoing Kashmir conflict.

The meeting aimed to strategize and intensify efforts to highlight the plight of Kashmiris.

Dr. Fai, Chairman of the World Forum for Peace & Justice, expressed gratitude for the dedication of Kashmiri American and Pakistani American communities in shedding light on the Kashmir issue. He emphasized that the silence of world powers has emboldened the Indian occupation, leading to crimes against humanity in Kashmir.

The visiting guests, including Rizwan Abbasi from ABN Television and Atiq Ahmed Sadazoi from SUNO Television, praised the Kashmiri American community’s initiative to protest during the Indian delegate’s speech at the UN General Assembly on September 28.

Dr. Fai stressed that the issuance of over 4.3 million Domicile Certificates would alter Kashmir’s demographics, with more than 2.5 million non-Kashmiris eligible to vote. He condemned India’s confiscation of Kashmiri lands and properties, warning that these actions have brought Kashmir to the brink of genocide.

The group expressed concern over the imprisonment of Kashmiri leaders, including Masarrat Aalam Butt, Mohammad Yasin Malik and Shabir Ahmed Shah, and pledged to raise awareness through Pakistani media.

The Kashmir issue remains a cornerstone of Pakistani foreign policy, and the visiting guests emphasized the need for all political parties to proactively address human rights abuses in occupied Kashmir.

Dr. Fai reiterated the United Nations Security Council’s stance that the final disposition of Kashmir will be made in accordance with the will of its people, through a free and impartial plebiscite conducted under UN auspices.

In solidarity with the people of Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the group plans to convene at the UN headquarters in New York on September 28.
