Hindu extremists’ move court claiming Ajmer Dargah was Shiva temple

Jaipur: In another move by Hindutva goons the extremists have gone Ajmer Court claiming that the Shrine of Ajmer Sharif of Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti was constructed on Shiva temple.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a civil suit has been filed before the Ajmer District Court claiming that Ajmer Dargah in Rajasthan was built over a Shiva temple and hence, it should be declared as Bhagwan Shri Sankatmochan Mahadev Virajman temple.

The suit has called for removing the unauthorized and illegal occupation of the premises by the Dargah committee.

The suit filed by Hindu Sena President Vishnu Gupta, through advocate Shashi Ranjan Kumar Singh, is likely to be heard on October 10.

The plea has also sought directions to the Archaeological Survey of India to conduct a survey of the Dargah.

The Ajmer Dargah is the tomb of Sufi saint Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti.

The suit by Gupta asserts that the roof design at the main entrance gate resembles that of a Hindu structure, indicating that the site was originally a temple.

Meanwhile, Syed Naseeruddin Chishti, head of Ajmer Sharif Wednesday condemned a Hindu outfit’s plea in the Rajasthan court which claimed that Ajmer Sharif Dargah was built on Mahadev.

“We strongly condemn this act and will respond to it,” he said.
