Speakers at Muzaffarabad seminar highlight role of youth in Kashmir freedom struggle

Muzaffarabad: Speakers at a seminar in Muzaffarabad highlighted the sacrifices of young Kashmiris in the ongoing struggle for freedom from Indian occupation, urging the youth to continue supporting the movement.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar titled ‘Role of youth in the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir’ was organized by The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter in collaboration with Muslim Students Organization at the University of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, King Abdullah Campus, Muzaffarabad.

The event was presided over by APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi, and featured prominent speakers including Speaker of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Latif Akbar, President of PML-N Azad Kashmir Shah Ghulam Qadir, former Jamaat-e-Islami AJK Emir Abdul Rashid Turabi, Dean of King Abdullah Campus Dr. Rafiq Khwaja and Lecturer AJK University Madiha Khan.

The speakers condemned India’s policies in IIOJK, noting that thousands of Kashmiris have faced imprisonment, job losses, and property seizures on fake and fabricated charges. They also raised concerns over India’s efforts to alter the occupied territory’s demographic composition, aiming to shift it from a Muslim-majority to a Hindu-majority area.

The speakers also condemned the Israeli aggression in Gaza, urging the international community to act against the ongoing oppression in both Kashmir and Palestine. They emphasized the need to support the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir and Palestine.

Other attendees at the seminar included APHC-AJK Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmad Butt, Syed Gulshan Ahmad, Muhammad Ashraf Dar, Nazir Ahmed Karnai, Uzair Ghazali, Mushtaq Ul Islam, Zahid Ashraf, and Abdul Hameed Lone.
