Indian police arrest three youth in Srinagar
Srinagar: Indian police have arrested three youth in Srinagar district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the arrested individuals have been booked under the draconian Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA). They have been identified as Usama Yasin Sheikh, Umar Fayaz Sheikh, and Afnan Ahmed, all residents of Ikhrajpora, Srinagar.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, VK Birdhi, confirmed the arrests, stating that a case has been lodged against the three youth at the Kothibagh Police Station. In a press briefing, the IGP alleged that the trio is affiliated with a mujahid organization.
Notably, the arrests of Kashmiris by Indian forces’ personnel under various pretexts have become a regular and deeply troubling feature in IIOJK. These detentions are not isolated incidents but part of a broader strategy by the occupation authorities to stifle any form of resistance or dissent in the territory.
