Bomb threats at Mumbai Airport and IndiGo Flight prove to be hoaxes again

Mumbai: A bomb threat at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport turned out to be a hoax after a thorough security inspection.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Mumbai airport administration received an anonymous call claiming that a passenger, allegedly traveling from Mumbai to Azerbaijan, was carrying explosives. In response, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) immediately alerted the Sahar Police, triggering heightened security measures at the airport. Passengers were subjected to detailed checks to ensure safety, but no explosives were found.

In a separate incident, IndiGo flight ‘6E812’, en route from Nagpur to Kolkata, was diverted for an emergency landing in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, after a bomb threat was reported. The 187 passengers aboard were safely evacuated, and a full inspection of the aircraft was carried out. However, this threat was also deemed false.

This follows a troubling trend in India, where over 450 bomb threats were reported across airports and aircrafts last month, all of which were later confirmed to be bogus. The hoax bomb threats prompted widespread concern over the safety and security of passengers and airline workers.
