Mehbooba demands action against Indian soldiers over civilians’ torture in Kishtwar
Srinagar: Peoples’ Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti has urged the authorities of occupied Jammu and Kashmir to take swift action against Indian Army personnel for torturing civilians in Kishtwar district of Jammu region.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred on November 20 in the Mughal Maidan area, where four civilians were tortured by Indian soldiers, resulting in injuries.
Mehbooba Mufti expressed her concern over the incident, stating that they evoke memories of the disturbing events that took place in Bafliaz Surankote earlier this year.
She said the victims, all from Kuath village, were summoned to the Army camp for questioning and subjected to extreme physical torture.
She added that the victims were severely injured and unable to walk, requiring hospitalization.
