Jamiat condemns Hindutva extremists’ claim on Ajmer Sharief
New Delhi: Maulana Mahmood Asad Madani, the head of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, has strongly condemned the extremist Hindus’ claim of a temple at the shrine of Hazrat Khawaja Moinuddin Chishti Ajmeri and demanded an immediate halt to the ongoing provocative actions against mosques across India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Maulana Madani, in a statement, described the claim to build a temple at the site of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s shrine as an attack on India itself. He stated that Hindu extremists have complete backing from the Modi-led BJP government, the consequences of which are manifesting in the form of anarchy and hatred in India. The claim by Hindu extremists regarding the Ajmer Sharif shrine is both absurd and condemnable.
Maulana Madani said that this baseless claim by Hindu extremists should have been immediately dismissed by the courts. He emphasized that Hazrat Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti has been a symbol of India’s identity for over a thousand years, known globally as a messenger of peace. He urged the central and state governments under the BJP to withdraw their support for such elements, warning that history would never forgive them for this course of action.
Furthermore, Maulana Madani strongly criticized the nefarious campaign by RSS-backed Hindu extremists against the Jamia Masjid in Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand. He denounced these actions as an attack on the Muslim community and urged the authorities to take immediate action to stop such activities.
