IIOJK CM’s Advisor exposes India’s malafide intent on statehood restoration
Srinagar: Nasir Aslam Wani, Advisor to the Chief Minister of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, has reiterated that the restoration of statehood is not a privilege granted by the Indian government but a fundamental right of the territory.
According to Kashmir Media Service, his remarks, made during a visit to Kupwara district, expose the Indian government’s superficial attachment to democratic principles in the occupied territory.
Wani emphasized that statehood is a “rightful entitlement” to the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, adding that the Indian Prime Minister and Home Minister have repeatedly assured its restoration on the floor of Parliament. However, these assurances are hollow, with no concrete steps taken in the nearly four years since IIOJK was stripped under Article 370.
