APHC-AJK meets to review preparations for Jan 5 rally in Muzaffarabad
Muzaffarabad: A review meeting was held in Muzaffarabad, today, with All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi in chair to review the preparations for the rally to be held in Muzaffarabad on January 5, Right to Self-Determination Day.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the meeting was informed that a historic rally will be held in Muzaffarabad on January 5 on Right to Self-Determination Day.
Contacts are ongoing with political and religious parties, scholars, youth, traders and Kashmiri refugees to participate in the rally, the meeting was told.
The meeting was attended by All Parties Hurriyat Conference Secretary General Advocate Pervez Ahmed Shah, Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, freedom-loving leaders Raja Khadim Hussain, Abdul Majid Sheikh, Mushtaqul Islam, Zahid Ashraf, Muhammad Nazir Karnai, Manzoor Ahmed Shah, Chaudhry Muhammad Shaheen, Zahid Ahmed Safi, Usman Ali Hashim, Syed Gulshan Shah, Abdul Majeed Mir, Syed Shoaib Ahmed Shah, Abdul Hameed Lone and Uzair Ahmed Ghazali.
Meanwhile, APHC-AJK Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt met with the office bearers of Tehreek-e-Shabab-e-Muslimeen Students Wing in Muzaffarabad and invited them to participate in the January 5 rally in Muzaffarabad.
In a meeting chaired by Riaz Ahmed Awan, Chairman of the Tehreek-e-Shabab-e-Muslimeen Students Wing, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, while addressing the youth, said on January 5, 1949, the United Nations Security Council passed a resolution granting the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
He said the resolution stated that Kashmiris would decide their political future through a free and impartial plebiscite. But unfortunately, despite the passage of seven decades, this resolution has not been implemented and since then, an endless series of Indian atrocities have continued in occupied Kashmir and the Kashmiri people are making unprecedented sacrifices to achieve their right to self-determination.
The Hurriyat team attended a special meeting with a delegation of Kashmiri refugees in connection with the right to self-determination rally organized by the Hurriyat Conference on January 5 the Right to Self-Determination Day.
Speaking on occasion, General Secretary Advocate Pervez Ahmed said the political, religious and social parties here should stand together behind the Kashmir freedom movement and dispel the propaganda that India is spreading regarding the Kashmir freedom movement that Pakistan has abandoned the Kashmiris.
Addressing the refugees, Director Kashmir of Liberation Cell Raja Sajjad said that refugees are the ambassadors of occupied Jammu and Kashmir and assured that the government of Azad Kashmir and all political parties of Azad Kashmir stand by Kashmiris and will continue to stand by them.
