Grand rally held in Muzaffarabad on Right to Self-Determination Day

Muzaffarabad: A grand rally was held in Muzaffarabad, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, on the occasion of “Right to Self-Determination Day”, today, under the auspices of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the rally was attended by leaders of the APHC-AJK, leaders of various political parties of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, workers, lawyers, students and people from all walks of life, besides a large number of common people.

APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other leaders led the rally. Women and students also participated in the rally in large numbers.

The participants held banners and placards in their hands on which slogans like “Kashmiris reject India’s usurping occupation”, “We will continue to uphold our right to self-determination”, “India can never suppress the Kashmiri movement through atrocities”, and “UN should implement its resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir.”

The participants of the rally raised slogans against Indian atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and in favour of Kashmir’s freedom from Indian occupation.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other speakers, while addressing the participants of the rally, said Kashmiris are making immense sacrifices for freedom from Indian occupation and their birthright to self-determination, and they will continue their struggle until the mission of their great martyrs is completed.

They said the main obstacle in the implementation of the UN resolution is India’s stubbornness. They said instead of fulfilling the promises made to the Kashmiris, India is trying to suppress their movement through military force.

The speakers said Jammu and Kashmir is the oldest dispute on the agenda of the United Nations, while the international community also considers Kashmir a disputed territory, so India can never change its controversial status through its illegal actions.

They said the non-implementation of the United Nations resolutions, so far, is a big question mark on the existence of the international organization. They said that despite all the conspiracies, atrocities and high-handed tactics of India, the morale of the Kashmiris is high and they will never bow down before India.

The speakers said that despite all its difficulties, Pakistan is providing full political, diplomatic and moral support to the oppressed people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, for which the Kashmiri people are grateful. They said that the sacrifices of the martyrs will definitely bear fruit and the entire Jammu and Kashmir will be freed from Indian rule and become a part of Pakistan.

The rally was also addressed by Khawaja Farooq Ahmed, Chaudhry Lateef Akbar, Shah Ghulam Qadir, Pir Mazhar, Mehr-un-Nisa, Razzaq Khan, Shaukat Javed Mir, Daniyal Shahab, Sheikh Aqeel-ur-Rehman, Musa Kashmiri, Asif Makhdoomi, Uzair Ghazali, Saqib Majeed and Mehnaz Qureshi.
