UK govt urged to play role for peaceful settlement of Kashmir, Palestine disputes
Islamabad: Chairman of the Board of Governors of the renowned NGO, Institute of Peace and Development (INSPAD), and prominent scholar and social figure Dr Khurshid Ahmed Chaudhry has urged the UK government to play its due role for the peaceful settlement of the long-pending Kashmir and Palestine disputes.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr Khurshid Ahmed Chaudhry talking with INSPAD President Dr Muhammad Tahir Tabassum and Secretary General Ms Kishwar Aqeel here today, lamented that Kashmiri leaders had been languishing in notorious jails of India and the occupied territory in false and fabricated cases which is a clear violation of international laws.
He demanded immediate and unconditional release of all illegally detained Hurriyat leaders and activists, adding their health condition is getting worse day by day due to lack of hygienic food in jails.
He said the Gaza-Israel ceasefire is an encouraging step, but implementation of the agreement is essential ao that peace could be established in the Middle East.
Dr. Khursheed Ahmad appreciated the outstanding performance of the President of INSPAD and his team. The Global Peace and Religious Harmony Conference organized by INSPAD at the British House of Commons last year was an exemplary and memorable program in which members of Parliament, and a large number of community leaders participated, he added.
The INSPAD President Dr Tahir Tabassum gave a detailed briefing on the activities of the organization and also informed them about the details of the programs to be held this year.
