India’s claim to be democratic country is shameful: Engineer Amir Muqam
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, has said that it is shameful for India to call itself a democratic country while illegally occupying Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Engineer Amir Muqam in a special statement regarding India’s Republic Day, which Kashmiris observe as Black Day said that on one hand, India is celebrating its Republic Day, and on the other, it has usurped the basic rights of the Kashmiri people and is committing atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
He expressed sorrow over the fact that India has been illegally denying the people of IIOJK their right to self-determination for over seven decades, subjecting them to oppression, violence, and brutality. Despite these atrocities, the spirit of the Kashmiri people remains unshaken, and India has failed to suppress their struggle for freedom.
Engineer Amir Muqam emphasized that the international community must intervene and stop India from violating human rights in IIOJK. Pakistan will continue to provide its full political, diplomatic, and moral support to the courageous Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the right to self-determination.
He further stated that the United Nations has passed a resolution granting the Kashmiris their right to self-determination, and it is the responsibility of the global body to ensure the implementation of its resolutions.
