KJF organizes Kashmir Conference in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day


Islamabad: Kashmir Journalists Forum organized a National Kashmir Conference at National Press Club in Islamabad in connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, in which solidarity was expressed with the Kashmiri people.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the conference was attended by former federal minister and PML-N leader Mushahid Hussain Syed, former president and prime minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob Khan, Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik’s wife and former federal minister Mushaal Hussein Mallick, PFUJ President Afzal Butt, Hurriyat leader Altaf Wani, Abdul Hameed Lone and others.

Addressing the conference, Mushahid Hussain Syed said that the solution to the Kashmir dispute was sabotaged four times. The issues with India were close to being resolved, twice the issue was spoiled by Pakistan and twice India sabotaged the process, he added.

He said the issue of Palestine and Kashmir are one and there is a need to talk to US President Trump for a permanent solution. He said the blood of the martyrs of Palestine and Kashmir will not go in vain. He said India needs to be taken to the International Court of Justice.

Sardar Yaqoob said it takes centuries to make freedom movements successful. He said there will be no compromise on the Kashmir freedom movement.

He said that Modi spent billions of dollars in occupied Jammu and Kashmir but could not buy the Kashmiris. He said no power in the world can deprive the Kashmiris of their fundamental rights.

Chief guest Mushaal Hussein Mulilck on the occasion said one generation after another is being sacrificed in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. She said Yasin Malik was not even allowed to talk to her after the death of her mother. She said those who are enduring the hardships of imprisonment in occupied Jammu and Kashmir cannot even attend the last rites of their families.

A resolution was unanimously passed in the conference, which expressed the determination to continue political, diplomatic and moral support to the oppressed Kashmiris.

The resolution demanded that the Government of Pakistan and the Government of Azad Kashmir jointly present a clear and unequivocal stance before the nation regarding the Kashmir freedom movement in the context of the post-2019 situation.

It demanded that all media houses in Pakistan expose the serious human rights violations by the Indian army in occupied Jammu and Kashmir on a daily basis in the media and include Kashmir-related content in every news bulletin.

The resolution thanked the Government of Pakistan and the people for observing Kashmir Solidarity Day on February 5 every year and reiterated the resolve that the unity of Jammu and Kashmir will be protected at all costs and on every front.

Kashmir Journalists Forum President Irfan Saduzai chaired the conference, while the conference was also addressed by Ex-Servicemen Society President Lt General (Retd0 Abdul Qayyoom, Kashmir Supreme League Chairman Masood Ahmed, former Kashmir Council member Ghulam Raza Naqvi, former Information Minister Azad Kashmir Sardar Abid Hussain Abid, former President of KJF Khawar Nawaz Raja, KJF General Secretary Maqsood Muntazir, Arshad Mir, Bashir Usmani, Sardar Imran Azam, senior journalists Aizaz Syed, Danish Irshad and others.
