Mirwaiz concerned about killing of two youth in Baramulla, Kathua

Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed concern over the killing of two youth in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, In Baramulla, truck driver Waseem Ahmed Malla was shot dead after Indian troops opened fire on his vehicle at Sangrama chowk on Wednesday night and In Kathua, a youth, Makhan Din, was arrested in the Billawar area on the pretext of being working with pro-freedom activists and was later tortured to death in custody on Thursday.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in his tweet on X said these incidents are condemnable and very disturbing. He said, “The unfortunate saga of extra-judicial killings and rights violations of people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir continues as the perpetrators are never brought to book. This cycle will continue until accountability is established and justice delivered.”

He said it is the responsibility of the authorities, including the elected representatives, to ensure that these crimes do not take place and if they sadly do they are investigated and those behind it punished.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq also denounced the arrests of hundreds of people across the valley in recent days and has appealed to the authorities to release them.
