Indian forces kill 4 tribal members including 3 women in Madhya Pradesh

Balaghat: Indian forces’ personnel killed four tribal members, including three women, in Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled Madhya Pradesh state of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the state’s anti-Naxal Hawk Force and police teams killed woman and a youth during search operations in a forested area in Balaghat district of the state near the Chhattisgarh border.
.
Indian police claim that the victims were Naxalites. “Four Naxalites, including three women cadres, were killed by the police in Madhya Pradesh’s Balaghat district”, an official said, adding identity of the slain are yet to be ascertained.

India has the second largest concentration of tribal population in the world, with many tribal communities living in remote, hilly areas. These indigenous groups have historically resisted outsiders entering their territories. Naxalism is not a law and order problem but is deeply rooted in the history of social and economic inequality, particularly concerning land and resource distribution.
