Anti-Muslim violence erupts in Jharkhand over loudspeaker installation
Ranchi: Anti-Muslim violence erupted in Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand, India, over the installation of speakers at a madrassa.
According to Kahsmir Media Service, a disagreement over installation of loudspeakers in the madrassa escalated into stone-pelting and arson. Authorities said there were no injuries or deaths.
An FIR has been registered as always against local Muslims. Hazaribagh Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar told the media that three motorcycles and a car were set ablaze.
In the past, the Hindu community had also raised objection over a “minaret structure” inside the madrasa.
