India’s land confiscation policies in IIOJK mirror Israel’s in Palestine: APHC

Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the Modi-led Indian regime is expediting its settler colonial project in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which mirrors Israel’s brutal occupation tactics in Palestine.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC Spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar argued that India is systematically converting the Muslim-majority Jammu and Kashmir into a Hindu-dominated territory through policies of land confiscation, demographic engineering and economic strangulation.
Since its military intervention in Kashmir on October 27, 1947, he said, India has pursued a strategy of marginalizing and eliminating the indigenous Kashmiri population. The statement pointed out that the ongoing measures including the illegal seizure of Kashmiri properties, the dismissal of Kashmiri government employees and the settlement of non-Kashmiri Hindus in the territory are part of a broader agenda to disempower Kashmiris politically, culturally, and economically.
The APHC spokesman mentioned that the Modi government’s policies violate United Nations resolutions on Kashmir and have drawn condemnation from human rights organizations. He warned that India’s ultimate goal is the erasure of Kashmiri identity and the establishment of a Hindu settler colony.
He criticized the silence of the international community and called for growing global intervention to halt India’s settler colonial project in the occupied territory and uphold the rights of the Kashmiri people.
