Body of one among three missing youth found in Kulgam

Srinagar: Body of a missing youth was found in Kulgam district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, one of the three youth, Riyaz Ahmad Bajad, who went missing under mysterious circumstances after the trio disappeared, has been found dead from Veshow Nallah in the Mah area of Kulgam district.

The locals found the body near the nallah and immediately informed the police. The body was shifted to a hospital for medico-legal formalities.

The locals said that the youth were picked by the Indian army last month from Qazigund area and the body of one of them was traced yesterday.

The families of the victim staged protests in the area, demanding their whereabouts. They have urged the authorities to intensify efforts to trace the remaining two, expressing anguish over the lack of answers

Locals informed the police after spotting Riyaz’s body in the nallah. The police have shifted it to a hospital for medico-legal formalities. A missing report had been filed at Qazigund police station after the trio disappeared on February 13.

The other two persons are Shokit Ahmad Bajard and Mukthar Awan, all residents of Qazigund, Kulgam, are still missing.

Police have launched a probe to ascertain the cause of death and search for other two is underway.

Meanwhile, a biker lost his life while his pillion rider sustained injuries in a road accident near Chatloora in Baramulla district while three persons were injured in a landslide incident in Pahalgam area of Islamabad district.
