APHC-AJK condemns India’s cruel measures in IIOJK

Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has strongly condemned the illegal and cruel measures of the Indian government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt and other leaders, including Shaikh Abdul Mateen, Zahid Safi, Zahid Ashraf, Aijaz Rehmani, Shaikh Yaqoob and Shaikh Abdul Majid in their separate statements in Islamabad said the decision of the Indian government to grant domiciles in occupied Kashmir to non-state residents is a clear violation of international laws and UN resolutions.

This move, they said, is a nefarious attempt to change the population ratio in the occupied territory. They said banning several peaceful political organizations, including the Awami Action Committee and Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen, in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is a serious attack on democracy and freedom of expression.

These organizations, they said, have always raised their voice for the rights of the Kashmiri people through peaceful and democratic means. By banning them, the Indian government has tried to suppress the legitimate voice of the Kashmiri people, the APHC-AJK leaders added.

They said serious human rights violations, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, torture and restrictions, are continuing in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

They urged India to initiate tripartite talks for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute and called upon the international community to put pressure on India to stop rights violations and grant the Kashmiris their right to self-determination.
