Security of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb tightened

Mumbai: The security of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb’s tomb has been tightened in the Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar area of the Indian state of Maharashtra.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Hindu extremist organizations, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), and Bajrang Dal, have threatened to destroy the tomb.

In view of the threat, district police officials visited the tomb and reviewed the situation. In addition to the local police, a contingent of the State Reserve Police Force (SRP) has also been deployed at the tomb.

Two senior inspector-level officers have been posted on duty 24 hours a day to protect the tomb.

Two roadblocks have been set up at two places on the road leading to the tomb and two fixed points have also been set up. Everyone coming to the tomb is being searched and then allowed to leave.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Adin Raje Bhosale has also demanded the removal of Aurangzeb’s tomb located in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar district.
