Indian govt using shameful tactics to cover up its failures: Pro-freedom forum

Muzaffarabad: A joint forum of pro-freedom organizations has said that the Indian government in occupied Jammu and Kashmir is resorting to increasingly shameful and desperate tactics to suppress the freedom movement and hide its failures.

According to Kashmir Media Service, a spokesperson for the forum said in a statement that the Indian government has, for decades, employed ruthless measures including killings, extrajudicial executions, arbitrary arrests, torture in detention centers, and gross human rights violations, but has failed to extinguish the Kashmiris’ quest for freedom.

The spokesperson noted that instead of weakening the freedom movement, Indian repression has only strengthened the spirit of resistance among Kashmiris. He said that after the failure of its violent tactics, India has now launched a deeply sinister and inhumane conspiracy to push Kashmiri youth and even children into drug addiction. Under a well-planned and state-sponsored campaign, narcotics are being deliberately supplied and distributed in the region to paralyze the mental, physical, and spiritual strength of Kashmiri youth — with the aim of destroying their sense of identity, religious values, and desire for freedom.

He termed this a dangerous weapon commonly used by occupying powers to ensure long-term subjugation of oppressed nations. “The tragic part is that not only is the Indian government orchestrating this shameful campaign, it is also blaming pro-freedom leaders for drug trafficking in a classic case of ‘the thief crying thief,’” he said.

Accusing freedom-loving leaders of drug dealing is like spitting at the sky, the spokesperson added. “The world knows that Kashmiri freedom fighters inspire the youth with faith, dignity, and the passion for liberation, not drugs.”

He said that these baseless allegations reflect India’s desperation and are a clear confession of its defeat. “The Kashmir freedom movement remains firmly rooted in its spirit, objectives, and resolve. These cheap and vile tactics will never succeed,” the spokesperson affirmed.

He concluded by saying that the Kashmiri people are well aware of the cunning and deceptive nature of their enemy. “We firmly believe that all of India’s conspiracies and coercive methods will once again fail and Insha’Allah, the dawn of freedom will rise.”
