Muslim youth returning from Muharram procession lynched in Rajasthan
Jaipur: A 17-year-old Muslim boy was brutally lynched by a Hindutva mob in BJP-ruled state of Rajasthan, India, after he returned from a Muharram procession.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the victim, identified as Shahrukh, was stopped and attacked by more than a dozen individuals while he was on his way home in Churu city of the Shekhawati region. Family members said the mob surrounded him and launched a violent assault without any provocation.
Eyewitnesses reported that bystanders did not intervene. “People were watching, but no one stopped them,” said one local resident. “The attack was so brutal — it was heartbreaking to witness.”
The entire incident was captured on CCTV, which clearly shows the minor being mercilessly beaten by the mob.
Shahrukh was rushed to DB Hospital by locals, but doctors declared him dead on arrival. Initial medical reports confirm that he died from severe internal injuries sustained during the attack.
The incident has triggered outrage within the local Muslim community. Shahrukh’s family strongly believes that the lynching was premeditated. “This was not just a fight,” a family member said. “Shahrukh had no enmity with anyone. This was a planned murder. We demand justice.”
The killing has once again highlighted the alarming rise in anti-Muslim violence across India under the patronage of Hindutva forces.
