Indian troops kill Six tribe members in Chhattisgarh

Raipur: Indian forces killed six tribe activists including a leader in BJP-ruled Chhattisgarh state of India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the tribal members were killed by Indian forces during a cordon and search operation in the Abujhmarh forest on the border of Narayanpur and Bijapur districts. The operation was reportedly launched a day earlier following intelligence inputs about Maoist presence in the area.

Indian forces dubbed them the activists of the Naxal movement. However, local residents and families of the deceased have challenged the official narrative, asserting that the victims were civilians with no ties to the CPI (Maoist). Despite police claims that the slain individuals were “reward-carrying Maoists,” the families are demanding an independent investigation into the encounter.
