Masood Khan calls for implementation of UNSC resolutions on Kashmir
Islamabad: Former President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Ambassador Sardar Masood Khan has emphasized the need for a peaceful resolution of the longstanding Kashmir dispute in accordance with the United Nations Security Council resolutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sardar Masood Khan while addressing a gathering of scholars and students stated that the cause of Kashmir cannot be overlooked as it represents a vibrant and enduring struggle for dignity, freedom, and international justice.
Sardar Masood Khan asserted that the recent war between India and Pakistan was fundamentally rooted in Kashmir. He said the stand-off started with the Pahalgam incident and culminated in reaffirmation of Kashmir’s centrality. He emphasized that US President Trump’s post-war statements have revived Kashmir’s visibility on the global stage.
The continued denial of Kashmiri self-determination is a recipe for perpetual instability in South Asia, with the constant risk of nuclear escalation. He said there can be no lasting peace without justice for Kashmiris.
The former AJK President also called for third-party mediation by credible international actors, including the United States to resolve the Kashmir issue.
Addressing the youth of the country, Sardar Masood Khan said the future of Kashmir rests in the hands of youth. He urged the youth to take the just struggle of Kashmir to every platform, including academic, digital and diplomatic.
He asserted that sustainable peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without granting the people of Jammu and Kashmir their legitimate right to self-determination.
