CASO enters sixth day in Kulgam, residents endure prolonged siege
Srinagar: The violent cordon and search operation launched by Indian forces in Kulgam district of occupied Jammu and Kashmir entered its sixth consecutive day, today.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Indian police officials admitted that drones, Rudra helicopters, and elite Special Forces were being used in the operation targeting Kashmiri resistance in the Akhran Devsar area of the district.
Clashes erupted between Indian troops and local youth advocating for the UN-mandated plebiscite and freedom from Indian occupation.
So far, at least three youth were martyred while four Indian troops sustained injuries.
Residents, including heart patients, pregnant women, and children, remain trapped in their homes and are facing immense hardship due to the prolonged siege and continued firing.
Fresh firing was reported as Indian troops reinforced their positions and cordoned off the area from all sides.
