One person killed in bomb blast in West Bengal
Kolkata: One person was killed in a bomb explosion outside a school in the Indian state of West Bengal.
According to Kashmir Media Service, police said the blast occurred on Monday in front of Madhyamgram High School, located in the North 24 Parganas district under the jurisdiction of Madhyamgram police station.
Superintendent of Police for Barasat police district, Pratiksha Jharkhariya, confirmed that the explosion left one individual critically injured. The victim was rushed to Barasat Medical College and Hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
According to police, the deceased was a resident of another state. Authorities have not released his identity pending further investigation.
“Further investigation is underway,” SP Jharkhariya stated, declining to provide additional details at this time.
