India using false allegations to malign Pakistan, suppress minorities
Islamabad: India is leveling false accusations against Pakistan to malign its image, while simultaneously suppressing minorities, including Muslims and Christians, and targeting respected Muslim leaders like Jalaluddin, popularly known as Chhangur Baba, by implicating them in fabricated cases.
According to Kashmir Media Service, political analysts have said that India is employing every possible tactic to defame Pakistan, linking it to every crime and unpleasant incident in order to divert attention from its internal weaknesses. In this connection, on July 5, 2025, Jalaluddin alias Chhangur Baba was arrested in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh on fabricated charges.
India’s Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and other investigative agencies alleged that more than Rs 300 crore had been transferred into India through illegal hawala channels from Nepal, allegedly connected to Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI, the Islamic Development Bank of Saudi Arabia, the Muslim World League, and other international Islamic institutions. Chhangur Baba was also accused of using coded language to lure Hindu women with promises of jobs, education abroad, and marriage, allegedly to convert them to Islam, and the entire network was branded as pro-Pakistan and foreign-funded.
Analysts pointed out that such allegations are part of India’s broader conspiracy aimed at maligning Pakistan and suppressing minorities inside India. India has also pressured the government of Nepal to strictly investigate mosques and madrasas, falsely claiming that terrorists or Pakistan-linked individuals use these religious institutions, thereby attempting to criminalize religious activities as rebellion or terrorism.
International human rights organizations and activists have repeatedly termed India’s actions against Muslims and Christians biased and discriminatory. They argue that while allegations of forced conversions to Islam are investigated aggressively, cases involving coercion into Hinduism are often ignored without any legal proceedings. India’s political and social forces prioritize the protection of Hindu majority dominance while depriving minorities of their rights and religious freedoms.
The case against Chhangur Baba must also be viewed in this context, where a senior Muslim leader is being targeted due to his religious and social influence. The real objective is to suppress the voice of minorities and obstruct interfaith harmony. Leveling false accusations against mosques and churches, and tarnishing their sanctity, has become a hallmark of India’s policy under which every unfavorable incident or act of resistance by minorities is blamed on Pakistan.
Indian institutions are jointly running an official campaign of hatred against minorities, particularly Muslims, which not only violates religious freedom but also threatens regional peace and harmony. The case of Chhangur Baba reflects India’s broader policy of silencing minorities by branding them as involved in forced religious conversions, criminalizing genuine religious freedom, and justifying these sinister actions through baseless accusations of links with Pakistan. This policy is severely damaging religious freedom in India while escalating political tensions in the region through anti-Pakistan propaganda, posing a grave threat to regional stability.
