RAW’s subversive activities in AJK, Pakistan exposed
Muzaffarabad: Indian intelligence agency RAW has long been involved in subversive activities in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan, attempting to destabilize the region through espionage, sabotage, and recruitment of vulnerable individuals.
According to Kashmir Media Service, security officials and analysts maintain that RAW has a history of exploiting economic hardships and social vulnerabilities to lure youth into spying or providing sensitive information in return for monetary benefits. These clandestine operations are aimed at targeting religious sites, public gatherings, and strategic installations, with the ultimate objective of sowing unrest and fueling insecurity in the region.
Media reports, for instance, highlighted the fresh arrest of a youth in Rawalakot accused of passing GPS coordinates and other details to RAW in exchange for hefty sums. The information was allegedly used to attack a mosque in Muzaffarabad. Such incidents underscore the persistent attempts of India’s intelligence network to infiltrate communities and create fault lines.
Locals in AJK stress that India’s intelligence agency has been trying to expand its footprint across the Line of Control. Security observers say this tactic is part of a wider strategy to destabilize AJK and divert attention from India’s own brutal repression in occupied Kashmir.
Analysts believe that while such isolated cases may come to light through police investigations, the larger pattern of RAW’s activities reflects India’s desperation to undermine peace and stability in the region.
