Pakistan skips India clash in T20 World Cup in protest against ICC move

Islamabad: Pakistan has announced it will boycott its highly anticipated T20 World Cup match against India on February 15 in Colombo, Sri Lanka, as a protest against the ICC’s decision to replace Bangladesh with Scotland.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the Pakistan government has cleared the national team to participate in the rest of the tournament, starting February 7.

The decision is seen as a mark of solidarity with Bangladesh, which had requested to shift its matches from India to Sri Lanka due to security concerns. The ICC has warned Pakistan of serious implications, including potential sanctions and financial penalties.

Pakistan’s participation in the tournament is now uncertain, and the team will face off against Netherlands on February 7, USA on February 10, and Namibia on February 18. If Pakistan sticks to its decision, India will likely be awarded a walkover, handing them two points.
