Two Kashmiris martyred in fake encounter in Bandipora on Aug 28
Srinagar: In yet another act of state terrorism, Indian forces’ personnel martyred two Kashmiri civilians in a fake encounter in Bandipora district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on August 28.
According to the Kashmir Media Service, the victims identified as Bagu Khan, alias Samandar Chacha and Inam Khan, were killed by the troops in a staged encounter during a cordon and search operation near Naushehra Nard in the Gurez area of the district. Both hails from Baranipora district.
To conceal the extrajudicial killings, the Indian army falsely claimed that the victims were involved in an infiltration attempt in the Gurez area of the Bandipora district.
Summary of the incident as per report:
• Date of incident: August 28
• Location: Naushehra Nard, Gurez area, Bandipora district, occupied Jammu and Kashmir
• Victims: Two Kashmiri civilians — Bagu Khan alias Samandar Chacha and Inam Khan
• Victims’ origin: Residents of Bandipora area of occupied Kashmir.
Indian troops have killed them in a fake encounter during a so-called anti-infiltration operation to cover-up the truth.
Reports of fake encounters and human rights violations in occupied Jammu and Kashmir have been raised repeatedly by local and international human rights organizations.
Kashmiris always call for impartial investigations, but accountability has historically been rare due to legal protections afforded to Indian army, paramilitary forces and police personnel under draconian laws like the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) in the territory.
