Two Assam Rifles soldiers killed, three injured in Manipur attack

Imphal: Two personnel of the Indian Army’s Assam Rifles were killed and at least three others, including an officer, were critically injured in an attack in the violence-hit, BJP-ruled state of Manipur.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident occurred on Friday evening when a group of armed men ambushed a vehicle carrying Assam Rifles personnel in the Nambol Sabal Leikai area of Bishnupur district.
“The troops were travelling from Imphal to Bishnupur when their vehicle came under heavy fire. Two personnel died on the spot while three others, including an officer, sustained serious injuries,” an Indian police official said.
