Raids conducted on residences, showrooms and hotels in IIOJK

Srinagar: India’s Income Tax Department, accompanied by police, conducted raids at multiple locations in Srinagar and Budgam districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the sleuths carried out searches at the residence of a prominent hotelier at Shalimar and his showroom at Brein Nishat in Srinagar. Another raid was conducted at a hotel in the Humhama area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The officials examined documents related to financial transactions during the raids, which continued till late hours. The operations were conducted on the pretext of alleged financial irregularities. However, Kashmiris view such raids and harassment of the business community as part of India’s broader policy to stifle local economy and tighten its control over the UN-recognized disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
