Modi regime’s colonial drive continues: Property of another Kashmiri seized in IIOJK
Srinagar: In a continuation of its colonial drive to dispossess Kashmiris in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the New Delhi-imposed administration, led by Lieutenant Governor Mano Sinha, has seized the property of another individual in Beerwah area of Budgam.
According to Kashmir Media Service, police, acting on the LG’s orders, confiscated immovable property measuring 3 kanals and 19 marlas in Dasan, Beerwah, belonging to Fayaz Ahmad. The action was carried out under the draconian Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
Authorities claimed Fayaz was a “freedom activist” planning to sell the land and channel the proceeds to support pro-freedom activities in IIOJK.
Since the revocation of occupied Jammu and Kashmir’s special status in August 2019, the BJP-led Indian regime has intensified its colonial policies, confiscating hundreds of properties, including homes, land, and businesses, belonging to Kashmiris. These assets are often handed over to non-local Hindus, aiming to economically marginalize Kashmiris and alter the demographic composition of the territory. KMS-17S
