Ghulam Mohammad Safi lauds Pakistan’s unwavering support for Kashmiris

Islamabad, October 29 (KMS): The Convener of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, has said that the Pakistani nation has once again demonstrated its unwavering solidarity with the Kashmiri people in their ongoing struggle for freedom from India’s illegal occupation, oppression, and injustice.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Ghulam Mohammad Safi, in a statement, expressed profound gratitude to the government and people of Pakistan for organizing massive protests, seminars, and rallies across the country on October 27, observed as Kashmir Black Day. These events were held to express solidarity with the struggling Kashmiris and denounce India’s military occupation of Jammu and Kashmir. He praised Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiri cause, highlighting that October 27, 1947, marks a dark chapter in history, when India, in violation of all international laws, agreements, and the Partition Plan of the Subcontinent, unlawfully occupied Kashmir.

Safi emphasized that Pakistan remains the only country that has consistently raised the Kashmir dispute on every international platform for the past 78 years, strongly advocating for the Kashmiris’ fundamental and inalienable right to self-determination. He added that the Kashmiri people remain deeply grateful for Pakistan’s principled, historical, and moral support throughout this long struggle.

Despite facing brutal oppression, human rights abuses, and India’s blatant disregard for United Nations resolutions, the Kashmiri people have never relented in their quest for freedom, Safi said. “As long as India refuses to recognize the disputed status of Kashmir and grant Kashmiris their right to self-determination, our struggle will continue on all fronts,” he asserted.

The APHC-AJK Convener made a strong appeal to the United Nations, the European Union, the OIC, and international human rights organizations to break their silence, advocate for justice and humanity, and pressure India to comply with Security Council resolutions. He expressed hope that as long as Kashmiris are denied their right to self-determination, Pakistan will remain firm in its moral, diplomatic, and principled support, and continue to speak out against oppression faced by the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

Safi underscored that the October 27 protests across Pakistan clearly demonstrated that the bond between Pakistan and Kashmir is not just geographical one but is deeply rooted in faith and spiritual unity. This bond, he asserted, will remain eternal.

Meanwhile, a delegation led by the Central President of Islami Anjuman Talaba Islam, Faisal Qayyum Magray, visited the Hurriyat office in Islamabad to offer condolences to Advocate Parvez Ahmed, APHC-AJK General Secretary, on the tragic death of his son. The delegation, which included student leaders Jawad Khan Lodhi and Mohammad Ahmed Lodhi, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and offered prayers for the deceased’s elevation to higher ranks and for patience and comfort for the bereaved family.

The condolence gathering was attended by Convener Ghulam Mohammad Safi along with Hurriyat leaders Altaf Hussain Wani, Shaikh Yaqoob, Ijaz Rahmani, Ashraf Dar, Raja Shaheen, Imtiaz Wani, Javed Jehangir, Syed Manzoor Shah, Abdul Majeed Mir, Syed Gulshan, Syed Mushtaq Geelani, Abdul Hamid Lone, and others.
