Indian police attach properties of two Kashmiris in Sopore

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Indian police have attached the immovable properties of two Kashmiris in Sopore in connection with a fake case.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the action pertains to a case registered at Police Station Sopore under draconian laws. The property of Basheer Ahmad Mir of Lathishat Tujjar and Ajaz Ahmad Butt of Harwan were attached.
Authorities claimed that the two had been evading arrest for years and were subsequently declared proclaimed offenders by a court .
Police claimed that the duo had crossed over to Azad Kashmir and were involved in anti-India activities. Following court orders, attachment proceedings were executed. The process, police said, was carried out in the presence of an Executive Magistrate and independent witnesses.
Observers, however, say that such actions under stringent and decades-old laws are part of an intensified campaign to economically and socially marginalize Kashmiris, particularly those accused of political or resistance-related activities. They maintain that property attachments and prolonged legal proceedings are increasingly being used as tools of pressure in the occupied territory.
