India erasing Kashmiris’ identity, existence under systematic plan: APHC-AJK
Muzaffarabad: All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir chapter has said that India is erasing the identity and existence of Kashmiri Muslims in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir under a systematic plan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC-AJK chapter Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt addressing the oath-taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of the Muzaffarabad Press Club, expressed deep concern over the dire situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and said that it is the responsibility of the media to bring the real ground situation of the territory to the world.
He said the Muslim-majority identity of the territory is being changed through religious, social and cultural restrictions on Kashmiris as well as demographic invasion, which is a clear violation of international laws and UN resolutions.
Mushtaq Butt said that India is rapidly changing the population ratio by settling lakhs of non-Kashmiri Hindus in occupied Kashmir. He said a dangerous conspiracy is at work behind this as in the future, India will make a so-called offer of plebiscite based on this artificial change in population, so that the basic principle of the right to self-determination of Kashmiris can be distorted. He said this is a systematic deception which needs to be exposed in a timely manner.
On this occasion, he urged the journalist community to give special importance to occupied Kashmir on print, electronic and social media, to bring Indian atrocities to the world with documented evidence and to convey the voiceless cry of the Kashmiri people to the global conscience.
Mushtaq Ahmed Butt congratulated the newly elected office bearers and paid tribute to the professional services of the journalist community. He also inaugurated the new building of the Press Club.
