Explosion in UP leaves 4 Indian Army soldiers injured

Saharanpur (UP): Four Indian Army soldiers were injured after an explosion occurred at the reserved Badkala firing range in UP, police said on Sunday.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain told the media that the incident took place on Saturday evening when routine firing exercises were underway.

“Suddenly an explosion occurred, injuring four Army personnel,” he said.

Police teams from Mirzapur and Behat rushed to the spot and shifted the injured soldiers to the nearby hospital. Jain said two of the injured were later referred to the district hospital due to the seriousness of their condition.

“An inquiry is being conducted to ascertain the cause of the explosion and to prevent recurrence of such incidents in the future,” he added.

The UP explosion incident highlights the concerning lack of professionalism and skill in weapon handling of Indian armed forces. Mishandling of arms can lead to tragic accidents, putting lives at risk. The inquiry into the incident aims to identify the cause and prevent future mishaps.
