Mirwaiz, Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam pay tributes to Allama Rasool Shah (RA) on his death anniversary
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, and Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam today paid rich tributes to the eminent Islamic scholar, reformer and pioneer of modern education in Kashmir, Allama Rasool Shah Sahib (RA), on his 117th death anniversary.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a post on X said: “On the 117th death anniversary of Allama Rasool Shah (RA), I pay glorious tribute to this great scholar, reformer and pioneer of modern education in the Valley, founder of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam (1899) the ‘Sir Syed of Kashmir’. This institution played a pivotal role in rescuing Kashmiri society from ignorance and subjugation through the transformative power of education. The Anjuman continues to carry forward the legacy of this great luminary with specific focus on education for the underprivileged and marginalised sections of society.”
The Mirwaiz said that Allama Rasool Shah’s visionary mission laid the foundations of a powerful educational and social reform movement in Kashmir, whose impact continues to shape generations.
On the occasion, a prayer meeting was held at the head office of Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam, where special prayers were offered for the eternal peace of Allama Rasool Shah (RA) and for all those who contributed to strengthening the Anjuman and its noble mission.
The Anjuman reiterated its resolve to continue expanding educational opportunities for the underprivileged in keeping with the ideals and vision of its revered founder.
