BJP regime dismisses five more Kashmiri employees in IIOJK

Srinagar: Continuing its colonial policies in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the BJP-led Indian government has dismissed five more Kashmiri government employees.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the IIOJK administration, under the New Delhi-appointed Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has terminated the services of Mohammad Ishfaq, a school teacher; Tariq Ahmad Rah, a laboratory technician; Bashir Ahmad Mir, an assistant lineman; Farooq Ahmad Butt, a Class IV employee in the forest department; and Mohammad Yousuf, a driver in the Health and Medical Eduction Department. The dismissed employees belong to different districts of IIOJK.

Since the revocation of IIOJK’s special status in August 2019, hundreds of Kashmiri employees have faced suspension and termination under various pretexts. These actions are widely regarded as part of India’s broader strategy to marginalize local Kashmiris.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), in a statement in Srinagar, while condemning the latest dismissals, called them part of ongoing authoritarian and anti-Kashmir agenda. The APHC urged the international community to urgently intervene as the situation in the occupied territory continues to deteriorate.
