Pakistan criticizes Indian National Security Advisor’s ‘avenge history’ remarks
Islamabad, January 14 (KMS): Pakistan has strongly condemned Indian National Security Advisor Ajit Doval for urging Indians to “avenge our history” and build a strong nation, saying such remarks reflected “imagined historical vendettas” rather than responsible statecraft.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Doval made the controversial remarks while addressing youth in New Delhi, calling on them to learn from India’s past struggles and use the powerful force of “vengeance” to ensure the country’s strength in areas including security and the economy.
Responding to media queries, Foreign Office spokesperson Tahir Andrabi described the comments as “hardly surprising coming from camouflaged hate-mongers”, adding that such narratives undermined regional peace and stability.
He said, “We have seen the reports on remarks made by the National Security Advisor of India. Such rhetoric is hardly surprising coming from camouflaged hate-mongers, for whom imagined historical vendettas are a substitute for responsible statecraft.”
Doval’s comments come at a time when India’s leadership has been consistently issuing tough and aggressive statements, which observers link to the rising tensions in South Asia.
Analysts view Doval’s statement as a reflection of India’s hardline, confrontation-driven approach, which includes the denial of Pakistan’s creation and lingering resentment over the outcome of the May 2025 conflict, in which Pakistan emerged victorious.
