Authorities issue avalanche advisory in Ganderbal

Srinagar: In the backdrop of continued erratic weather in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, authorities have issued an avalanche warning for Ganderbal district.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the administration issued a public advisory following the avalanche warning for the higher reaches of the district.
In a statement, police urged residents, tourists and commuters to avoid unnecessary travel to higher altitudes and avalanche-prone areas until weather conditions improve and the advisory is formally withdrawn by the competent authorities. The public has been asked to strictly follow the guidelines issued by the administration to safeguard life and property.
Police have appealed for public cooperation to ensure safety and prevent any untoward incidents.
People living in the specified areas have been advised to take precautionary measures and avoid venturing into avalanche-prone zones.
