Indian troops martyr three Kashmiri youth in Kishtwar

Troops burn bodies beyond recognition to conceal identities, extrajudicial actions

Jammu,: In a fresh act of state terrorism, Indian troops martyred three Kashmiri youth in a fake encounter in Kishtwar district and later mutilated their bodies to portray them as foreign militants, marking yet another grim chapter in the occupied territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the youths were local residents of the Chatroo area and had been taken into custody during an ongoing multi-day search operation. They were subsequently killed in a staged encounter, after which their bodies were burned using chemical substances, rendering them unrecognizable. Reports indicate that a chemical compound identified as RD 2PNG, capable of rapidly igniting structures and anyone inside, was used to destroy evidence. Following the killings, additional troops were deployed, and all entry and exit points of the area were sealed, further tightening the occupation’s grip on the local population.

Observers noted that India has consistently attempted to portray local Kashmiri youth as Pakistan-linked militants to malign Pakistan and discredit the indigenous freedom struggle. To avoid exposure of their extrajudicial actions and identity of the youth, occupation forces routinely mutilate or burn the bodies, masking the truth from national and international scrutiny.

This is not an isolated incident. Over the years, numerous cases have emerged in which Kashmiri youth were killed in staged encounters, their bodies disfigured through chemical or incendiary means. Analysts argue that the so-called professional army of the world’s largest democracy repeatedly resorts to such tactics in IIOJK. The demolition of homes, custodial killings, and desecration of bodies of Kashmiris engaged in a just struggle have, they say, become recurring features — stark stains on the face of Indian democracy.

For the past 78 years, India has maintained its control over Jammu and Kashmir through an overwhelming military presence, suppressing the will of the Kashmiri people. While projecting itself as a democratic state, New Delhi continues to commit war crimes in the territory. Despite prolonged military operations and draconian measures, Indian forces have failed to crush the aspiration of Kashmiris for self-determination. Unable to confront youth directly, occupation troops abduct, detain, and later kill them in staged encounters.

Observers maintain that India is fighting a losing battle in IIOJK. Despite brutal crackdowns, the resolve of the Kashmiri people remains unbroken. Continued reports of staged encounters and desecration of bodies, they argue, deepen alienation and underscore the urgent need for accountability and a just resolution to the decades-long dispute.
