War no solution to political or economic differences of states: Rehmani

Islamabad: Senior APHC-AJK leader and Chairman of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani has said that war is no solution to the political or economic differences of states but causes horror and terror for innocent lives.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement in Islamabad, condemning targeted killing of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and launching war on Iran by US and Israel, warned that Israel and America have destabilised the Middle East in a manner that is detrimental to peace, progress of the whole region.
They proved to be irresponsible nations by resorting to war instead of dialogue and rejected and violated the United Nations Charter and its resolutions, he added.
He lamented the loss of a great leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei along with his family members who was also respected as an undisputed spiritual leader of Iran. He described Khamenei’s death as a great tragic event of the century which has the potential to open a chain of tragedies for the region (God forbid).
The missile attacks by Israel and America on Iran when dialogue was going on between the two states, he stated, had damaged peace and the peaceful existence of the states in the already turbulent region. The attacks would lead further to unprecedented human and commercial loss in the shape of inflation and price hike in the region and neighbouring states, he added.
Besides, Farooq Rehmani took strong exception to the visit of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Israel, their defence collaboration and sudden attacks by Afghan Taliban on Pakistan.
Smelling a rat in these successive unpleasant but dreadful developments, he observed that the region must not pay for the ambitions of India and Israel whose human rights record and expansionist desires are not hidden from the people.
He said resumption of dialogue between them was an ideal way to address the mutual grievances. At the same time he urged the Muslim heads of states to sit together, sink their differences and begin a sustained peaceful dialogue as required under the UN Charter and Islamic principles to resolve their problems in the name of peace and Islamic fraternity.
