Kashmiris rally behind Iran relief efforts, donate gold and cash
Srinagar: In a remarkable display of humanity, Kashmiris from all walks of life have come together to donate gold, cash, and valuables for the people of Iran affected by the ongoing crisis.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the initiative, in response to a simple call for help, has seen an outpouring of support, with people from across the territory donating whatever they could, including precious jewelry, household items, and even livestock.
The response has been overwhelming, with participation cutting across age and gender. Women, children, and men have all played a part, with many donating items of great personal significance. One woman donated gold preserved for nearly three decades as a memento of her late husband, a gesture that moved the Iranian Embassy to tears.
In Budgam, a stall was set up outside a mosque, collecting donations ranging from cash to copper utensils.
The Iranian Embassy has expressed gratitude for the gesture, stating that the kindness of the Kashmiri people will “never be forgotten.” As the donations continue to pour in, one thing is clear: in times of need, humanity knows no borders. The people of Kashmir have shown that compassion is a universal language, and their generosity will undoubtedly bring hope to those affected by the crisis in Iran.
