India-Israel nexus faces strong global criticism amid ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza

Islamabad: Amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza and growing global concern, India-Israel relations have once again become the focus of criticism and debate.

According to Kashmir Media Service, critics are calling these ties important not only at the diplomatic and defence levels but also in the context of ongoing conflicts in the region.

Observers say that in the current situation, it has become imperative to examine the political, military and social implications of these relations, as these links can directly affect the changing geopolitics of South Asia and the Middle East.

Observers say India has become an important tourist destination for Israeli citizens, especially young men who have completed their military service, where they travel as a post-service trip. Every year, 30,000 to 50,000 Israeli soldiers visit India, while sometimes this number reaches 80,000.

According to reports, significant influences of Israeli culture can be seen especially in areas like Kasol, Dharamkot, Goa and Pushkar. Dharamkot is also called Mini Israel in some circles, where there are Hebrew signboards in cafes and hostels, while in Pushkar and Varanasi, food and facilities are provided according to Israeli tourists.

The party culture in Goa and the exclusive cafes in Kasol also attract a large number of foreign tourists, especially Israelis.

According to analysts, the defence ties between India and Israel are also very strong, under which India receives missile systems, drones and advanced surveillance technology from Israel.

Critics say this reflection of Indo-Jewish cooperation can also be seen in occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where drone surveillance, strict check posts, internet shutdowns, house demolitions and other measures are under discussion.

Moreover, according to observers, cooperation between the two countries in the field of counter-terrorism has increased, while some quarters describe the policies of Narendra Modi and Netanyahu as having the same ideological direction.

Critics further say that India was inclined towards Israel during Israel’s brutal atrocities and barbarities in Gaza, which is being debated at the international level regarding human rights. They say that there is a need to understand the political, social and regional implications of these relations.
